The diversity of the natural landscape and the influences received during centuries of other peoples are elements that explain the multiplicity of the gastronomic specialties: potato and cabbage broth and bread made from maize, roast pork, the cod, the octopus and the trout, the chicken rice " pica no chão" and the duck rice, the kid and the baked heifer, the ham and the frying pans of Braga, are some of the excellent examples.
